As a moral and legal responsibility for all employers, achieving high standards of health and safety in the workplace is vital to your organisation. Ill health, stress and injuries at work, or resulting from work, can cost an organisation thousands or even millions of pounds in absenteeism, lack of productivity, damage and compensation.
Pendragon Health & Safety Management works with you to develop a safe working environment for your employees and install protective measures against possible legal risks. The service provides expertise in:
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.—Abraham Lincoln
Identifying hazards through structured analysis of your premises and business in order to highlight all areas of physical and psychological risk
Implementing policy and procedure through interpretation of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, linked to the analysis of risk areas within your organisation
Reviewing the working environment through regular update reviews that allow for any new health & safety risks to be addressed
Health & safety education through management and staff training sessions to educate the workforce in health & safety best practice
Creating a process of approach through a culture that allows employees to report a health & safety risk or address their own wellbeing without fear of persecution
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) define work-related stress as:
the adverse reaction people have to excessive pressures or other
types of demand placed on them.
This definition makes a clear identification of stress in the workplace, though plainly not all pressure at work should be classified as work-related stress. In fact reasonable pressure can stimulate and motivate staff to rise to challenges and achieve some of their best work. Since stress occurs when people perceive they cannot cope with their work, it is fair to say that anyone can be affected by work-related stress regardless of their job or position. Pendragon HR works with your organisation’s staff to help identify stressors within the workplace and develop solutions for reducing or eliminating them.
